Hageland

The Hageland, our Gravel steel bike. An ode to the area where Eddy grew up. Gravel roads abound in this part of Belgium: this is how the Dwars door het Hageland race inspired the name of this bike.

The Hageland is a special one within the Eddy Merckx Steel collection. Gravel didn’t exist during the cycling career of Eddy Merckx or his frame building career. But the region where Eddy was born is actually one of the best gravel locations in Belgium.

Eddy Merckx was born in Meensel-Kiezegem. He found his passion for cycling on the roads in and around the village of his birth. It was on those dusty paths that Eddy’s talent was discovered.

It’s also the region where Dwars door het Hageland takes place, which is a new and promising gravel race every modern pro cyclist is eager to win. It is therefore the ideal name for this bike.
